El equipo de desarrollo, de quizás el mejor reproductor de música en Linux, nos presenta su nueva versión, Amarok 2.3.1. Todo el esfuerzo y dedicación convergen en esta entrega que viene con notables mejoras y características tales como: nueva lista de reproducción basada en criterios (lista de reproducción inteligente); podemos crear una lista por duración de las pistas o el tamaño del archivos.
Se han agregado 2 nuevos applets; uno llamado “próximos eventos“, muestra los conciertos y eventos que el artista de la pista en reproducción esté realizando, y otro applet llamado “artistas similares“, utiliza la base de datos de Last.fm para mostrarnos otros artistas similares al que estemos escuchando.
Amarok 2.3.1 cuenta con muchos bugs corregidos, mayores y menores, y un conjunto de mejoras que ayudan a tener una mejor experiencia al disfrutar de nuestra música preferida.

- Fixed factor used when filtering lengths in collection browser.
- Fixed wrong value used when filtering comments in collection browser.
- Don’t truncate the “Label:” label in the TagDialog.
- Display extended characters properly in names of Last.fm streams.
- Cover fetcher: prevent automatic fetcher from setting album’s cover if it is done manually during the download.
- File browser: show folders first, files afterwards. Patch by.
- Queued track’s contextual menu entry about dequeueing was written wrong and misleading.
- Custom color setting in the On Screen Display was only applied after restart. Patch by Frank Steinmetzger .
- Track Rating was not always displayed correctly in the On Screen Display. Patch by Frank Steinmetzger .
- Improved layout for applet setting dialogs. Patch by Felix Geyer .
- Made icons in applets react correctly in double-click environments. Thanks to Felix Geyer .

- Better fix for pausing SHOUTcast streams, without advancing to the next track after resume.
